Email marketing is one of the best ways that can help you grow your business.
It helps you attract new customers and maintain a close relationship with your existing ones.
There are a lot of different email marketing software out there and most of them operate at relatively same prices so it can be challenging to figure out which one is best for your business.
The best platform for you will depend on your budget, the size of your list, which Integrations you require, and much more.
It should be obvious that there is no “one size fits all” email marketing platform.
To help you find the right email marketing software for your business, I researched and analyzed dozens of options and narrowed it down to just five.
I will mention a brief summary, a screenshot, pricing, pros and cons of using each of them.
Let’s see how they stack up against each other, starting with my favorite – GetResponse.
GetResponse is one of the most popular email marketing solution available out there. To be honest, calling GetResponse just “Email marketing solution” is not fair.
Because it’s an all-in-one marketing solution.
From Landing pages and Webinars to Automation and over 50 easy yet powerful features – they’ve got you covered.
Their platform is user-friendly and they have best-in-class 99.5% deliverability.
Getresponse is available in 19 languages and they serve more than 350,000 customers!
- The platform is smooth & user-friendly
- Pricing structure is great (Quality product at an affordable price)
- 500+ beautifully designed templates and everything is responsive (Mobile/tablet optimized)
- Integration with over 170 applications (Including WordPress, PayPal, Salesforce, Zendesk, and Shopify)
- The customer service team is really responsive, friendly and professional
- They have a mobile app, so you can manage your email marketing campaigns, collect leads, and keep up to date on you statistics while you’re on the go.
- You get charged for every contact on every list ( Let’s say, you have segmented your list and one person appears on more than one list, you get charged for two contacts)
- Non-availability of data of the removed subscribers
- Landing page builder templates are outdated
- They do have automation but its functionality is limited
- They do nothing about complaints
The Bottom Line
I have used GetResponse for 4 months and I absolutely love it. What really won me over is their all-in-one solution, which saved my cost for Webinar hosting, Landing page builder and Lead generation software.
Simplicity is one of the main reasons I recommend it to everyone. Even the high-end solutions out there can’t beat the simplicity GetResponse offers.
If you have never used an autoresponder service or you’re thinking of changing from your current one, then GetResponse is definitely worth giving a shot.
Their pricing starts from $15/month for unlimited emails to 1,000 contacts.
If you go with 12 months subscription you will get an additional 18% discount and 30% discount when you go with 24 months subscription.
However, do yourself a favor and make full use of their trial period and test it thoroughly.
So you can know yourself whether GetResponse is worth your time or not.

Initially, I used to hate AWeber.
Because their platform was bit outdated.
What got me using AWeber is that all the top marketers were using and recommending it.
Despite looking a bit outdated, AWeber is one of the best email marketing service provider in the Industry.
It has all the important features you’d want, such as ready to use email templates, segmentation, autoresponders, detailed insights, split testing, and integrations.
The best word I can use to describe AWeber is reliable.
AWeber is trusted by over 100,000 entrepreneurs and small businesses.
- Really simple to use
- Awesome customer support
- Sign up forms Analytics are great
- 100+ app integrations
- Mobile apps to see how your emails are performing when you’re on the go
- AWeber’s design interface and email control dashboard
- Slow speeds and crashes
- No survey feature
- No image hosting
- Just like GetResponse, AWeber also charges for duplicate subscribers (I Literally hate this)
- They’ve been slow to innovate
The Bottom Line
No doubt, AWeber dashboard is not user-friendly, People are always complaining about it.
But, I think AWeber has started taking it Seriously and they are working on it to make their user experience better.
Recently, they changed their onboarding page template and I really like it.
Anyways, It’s just not about this.
They recently updated their user interface with pretty fonts and buttons to give it that more contemporary look.
In short, they are working on everything that makes their customer happy.
Their pricing starts at $19/month and allows you to send unlimited emails to up to 500 subscribers.
It is a bit more expensive than GetResponse (by $4/month)
Take your time and give it a chance to find out whether it’s a good fit or not for your business.

They also give you some advice by comparing your open rates with your industry average and your list’s average.
- Ease of use
- Great customer service
- Reporting data about how many people opened a campaign and clicked on links etc
- Lots of third-party integration.
- Built-in templates and editor to customize your campaigns
- It is little hard to figure out how to create the template
- They are more expensive than others.
- The subscription form isn’t fully customizable.
- Free plans don’t have analytics tools or an auto-responder.
- Reports aren’t real-time
- MailChimp force users to double opt-in to join your list
- MailChimp doesn’t allow you to send one campaign to multiple subscriber lists.
The Bottom Line
One of the main reason why MailChimp is immensely popular as they are the only email service provider to offer a 100% free account.
However, there are some restrictions that come along with it, If you want to use autoresponders – you’ll need to upgrade and pay for that.
If you are someone who only wishes to collect emails and send some newsletter on rare occasion, then MailChimp is perfect for you.
MailChimp offers a forever free plan which allows you to send 12,000 emails for up to 2,000 subscribers.
After that, their pricing starts from $10/month.
Drip was launched in 2013 and it was acquired by Leadpages in July 2016.
I have recently started using Drip and it has some of the best automation capabilities I’ve seen so far.
Drip allows users to create email campaigns, workflows and broadcasts for lead nurturing and customer engagement.
With drip, you can automatically deliver perfectly timed messages to your customers based on triggers you decide.
Once you are driving new leads and have them Integrated into your favorite marketing apps, you can visually design your customer journey called workflows.

The Bottom Line
Basically, Drip platform is designed to implement most powerful marketing automation in your online business.

The starter plan is completely free to use for up to 100 subscribers and it’s a great way to test all of Drip’s features.
The ‘basic’ plan cost $49/month and allows up to 2500 subscribers, and the ‘Pro’ plan cost $99/month and allows up to 5000 subscribers.
When you opt for annual plans, the ‘basic’ plan cost $41/month and ‘Pro’ plan cost $83/month. In addition to that, you also get 2 months for free.

ConvertKit is my favorite email marketing provider.
I have used ConvertKit almost for a year and I can say it has every feature that will make you fall in love with it.
Designed specifically for bloggers, It includes a range of unique tools to make it easy for you to build your list and turn your subscribers into customers.
ConvertKit interface is beautifully designed and it will take only 15 minutes to completely understand their dashboard.
If you are an existing MailChimp user or going to become one, then I will recommend you to check out this post.
I have mentioned some pros & cons of using both and it will help you make the better decision.
- They do not charge for duplicate subscribers
- ConvertKit automation features are flexible and powerful
- You can easily segment your lists with marketing automation
- Integrations are there, but limited
- Slightly higher pricing structure
- No free trial
The Bottom Line
What I like the most about ConvertKit is that it is a pleasure to use.
Marketing automation plays a very important role in growing your business, and ConvertKit is one of the few email service providers that provide it.
Price wise, ConvertKit is more expensive than the other email service providers on this list.
ConvertKit plans start from $29/month, for up to 1,000 subscribers, but worth every penny.
There’s also no free trial, but they do provide a 30-day money back guarantee.
ConvertKit has been growing at a fast pace and they are constantly adding new features and I’m very interested in seeing how it continues to evolve.
I asked them if they could provide you (BlogsCart readers) a free trial, and guess what – they agreed.
It’s clear that there’s no such thing as “one size fits all” email marketing software.
Selecting the perfect email marketing platform is a difficult decision. Each one has different features, pros, cons and pricing factor.
While considering, keep in mind your current needs as well as your future goals.
Once you have started using a platform and all your data is in there, it can be a difficult task to switch to another provider.
So, select a good platform now that can help you get new customers and more revenue.
Luckily for you, most of the email marketing platform provides a free trial, so you don’t lose any money while you’re experimenting.
